This adorable hippo dish is hand-carved from soapstone, also known as Kisii stone, as it is hand-quarried and carved in the Kisii region of Kenya. These hippo dishes are left unpainted, allowing the natural beauty of the stone to shine through. Great as a unique gift for any hippo lover, or as a gift to yourself!
The hippopotamus dishes are approximately 7" from nose to tail, and the bowl is approximately 4.25" diameter. They are about 2" high. Sizes/dimensions are approximate, as each piece is handmade.
Hippo dishes are also available in a variety of colors.

As each item is hand-carved and unique, you will receive exactly the one pictured. As these are handmade from stone, marbling and natural marks may appear in the stone.
We work directly with a community-based group of 30 artisans in Kisii, Kenya, who bring these beautiful soapstone hippo dishes to life. This partnership not only supports the artisans financially but also helps preserve their traditional carving techniques. -

Seller actually has pictures of the different pattern on the soap stone for me to choose exactly the one I like. Plus I hit the button twice and ordered 2 and seller was very quick to give me refund. EXCELLENT customer service. Great product! Thank you!
