Bring a touch of joy to your space with these playful hippo dishes, each one hand-carved from natural soapstone in the Kisii region of Kenya. Skilled artisans carefully shape every hippo by hand before painting them in bright, cheerful colors using eco-friendly, non-toxic paint.
Perfect for holding rings, loose change, or tiny keepsakes, these small dishes also make wonderful gifts for any hippo enthusiast or animal lover.
Each hippo measures about 5" from nose to tail, with a 3" wide bowl and stands approximately 1.5" tall. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in size, shape, and color make every dish beautifully one of a kind.
Small animal dishes are also available in Elephant, Frog, and Rhino styles, in multiple colours.

It's even nicer than it looked in the picture. Very good quality. The reused shredded paper for the packing really protected the dish from breaking during shipment. Shipping was very fast.

This was a great gift for my hippo-loving dad - and something really unusual that he didn't have! It went down great and I really enjoyed being able to support fairtrade handicraft as well.
