These adorable white hippo dishes with black polka dots are hand-carved from soapstone, also known as Kisii stone, as it is hand-quarried and carved in the Kisii region of Kenya, and then painted with eco-friendly non-toxic paint, and polished to a shine. Great as a unique gift for any hippo lover, or as a gift to yourself!
The polka dot hippopotamus dishes are about 7" from nose to tail, and the bowl is approximately 4.25" diameter. They stand about 2" in height. Sizes/dimensions are approximate, as each piece is handmade.
Hippo dishes are also available in a variety of colors.

As each item is hand-carved and unique, you will receive a similar item to the one pictured. As these are handmade from stone, marbling and natural marks may appear in the stone.
We work directly with a community-based group of 30 artisans in Kisii, Kenya, who bring these beautiful soapstone hippo dishes to life. This partnership not only supports the artisans financially but also helps preserve their traditional carving techniques. -
