  These adorable turquoise hippo dishes are hand-carved from soapstone, also known as Kisii stone, as it is hand-quarried and carved in the Kisii region of Kenya, and then painted with bright eco-friendly non-toxic paint, and polished to a shine. Great as a unique gift for any hippo lover, or as a gift to yourself!
  
  The turquoise hippopotamus dishes are 7" from nose to tail, and the bowl is approximately 4.25" diameter. They are about 2" high. Sizes/dimensions are approximate, as each piece is handmade.

  We work directly with a community-based group of 30 artisans in Kisii, Kenya, who bring these beautiful soapstone hippo dishes to life. This partnership not only supports the artisans financially but also helps preserve their traditional carving techniques.
