  What could be hipper that a smiling hippopotamus? They are hand-carved from soapstone, also known as Kisii stone, as it is hand-quarried and carved in the Kisii region of Kenya, and then painted with bright eco-friendly non-toxic paint.
  
  The stone hippos are approximately 5.5" long from nose to tail, 4.5" high, 3" wide, and weighing in at over 3lbs each! Sizes/dimensions are approximate, as each piece is handmade. Each item is unique, so you will receive a similar item to the examples shown.
