The people of Guatemala have a unique way of managing their worries. When worries keep you awake in Guatemala, you tell your worry to a small doll and place it under your pillow. The doll takes over your worries for you, and you can relax and have a restful night of sleep. Lots of worries? Just tell each worry to a different doll!
We work with UPAVIM, a group of 75 women who live in the marginalized community of La Esperanza in Zone 12 of Guatemala City. UPAVIM knows that when women are economically empowered, families thrive and communities are safer. Through income generating projects, the women of UPAVIM are able to not only support themselves and their families, but also to support their community
