On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me... a partridge in a pear tree!
These beautiful partridge sculptures (tree not included) are handcrafted from onyx stone in Pakistan by Dominion Traders, taking advantage of the natural colors and grains in the stone. Because each piece is unique, we have posted pictures of each individual piece we have available.
At Dominion Traders, artisans receive fair wages, are employed in good working conditions and are provided with profit sharing, pension plans and medical benefits. Artisans can also take advantage of interest free loans and advances if needed.
Dominion Traders is a family business that works with disadvantaged artisans creating stone handicrafts. In a society that is strictly divided along religious lines, Dominion Traders hires people regardless of religion or ethnicity, as well as disabled individuals and Afghani refugees. All work together in friendly and cordial relationships. Dominion Traders operates its own workshop, employing more than 55 artisans, and also work with as many as 20 other independent, small family-owned workshops.
