These charming bowls are hand-carved from soapstone, and painted with eco-friendly non-toxic paint.  For the flower bowls, after they are painted with a base color, the pattern is then etched into the face of the bowl, exposing the natural light/white colour of the stone.  

For the white bowls, they are initially painted black, and then the background is chipped away, exposing the natural stone, with the animal pattern remaining in black. 

Soapstone is also called Kisii Stone, because it is found in the Kisii area of Kenya.  These brightly colored bowls are great as decorative accent pieces or for your storing your keys / coins / earrings / etc.  They are not suitable for food.

As each bowl is individually carved, sizes are approximate, but are approximately 3 inches (7.5 cm) in diameter, and 1 inch (2.5cm) high.  Where multiple items are available, you may receive a very similar item.  Where only one item is available, you will receive the pictured item.
