  These beautiful hand-carved hippopotamus sculptures are made in Kenya from soapstone. They are not painted, the colours and patterns in the stone show the beauty of the natural stone. Soapstone is also called Kisii Stone, because it is found in the Kisii area of Kenya.
  
  As each animal is individually carved, sizes are approximate, but the hippo is approximately 6 inches long, 4" high, and 2.5" wide. Each hippo has it's own listing, and you will receive exactly the item pictured.
